Charlene Barrie

Charlene Barrie is a seasoned entrepreneur who has owned her eponymous enterprise, Char’s Kitchen, since 1995. Spending much of her time making over a dozen varieties of homemade jellies and jams from her homegrown fruits and vegetables, she also makes delicious, homemade salsa, syrups and pickles in numerous flavors. Among her delectable recipes, her most prized flavors include strawberry rhubarb, raspberry rhubarb and raspberry jalapeno. Impressively, Ms. Barrie’s products can be purchased from over 30 food stores across South Dakota, as well as in several locations in North Dakota, Arkansas, Tennessee and Arizona. Her products are also sold nationally and overseas directly from her website. Well-versed in all aspects of food safety and preparation, Ms. Barrie holds a food service license from the South Dakota Department of Health and earned a ServSafe certification from the National Restaurant Association. She maintains affiliation with the American Legion as a member and past president and Veterans of Foreign Wars as a lifetime board member in her spare time. In accounting for her success, Ms. Barrie credits her decades of diligent work and commitment to providing top-quality products. She earned the 2022 Diamond Award from Carrington Publishers to celebrate her accomplishments.
